Low-Cost BG Simulant

There is a need for online testing of bioaerosol and bacterial spore detection systems.  Current methods use BG spores as a test agent. OSS has developed a low cost bio-simulant for BG spores made from simple, environmentally benign ingredients. This simulant mimics the infrared, ultraviolet, and atomic absorption signatures of bacterial spores.  The synthetic material can be used to replace BG for online testing of bacterial spore detection systems.
